Hello, you know me as Kiiwii, and I'm not well known for anything. I haven't made any programs, and fun or long games, nothing like that, but I do have a concern...
I have recently gotten a PSP from my best friend for $80 with five games, and I've never had one when they were popular, but I did remember that there were movies released on the custom optical media format for the PSP called Universal Media Disc (UMD). While you can find nearly all PSP games on the internet, you will find no dumps of the movies released on the same format, and that concerns me greatly. I have gone around and asked others on why there are no dumps of the movies and everyone says that it's not needed since there are other formats the movies were released on, and you can also just play the same movie as an .mp4 file since the PSP has multimedia capabilities, but to that I say they're wrong.
The UMD Movies have special things about them that aren't available as a simple .mp4 file on your PSP. You can have subtitles, different angles, change audio tracks, have a movie menu and much more! Now you may be saying that DVDs and Blu-Rays have the exact same features plus more stuff, and you're right. But I feel like we are ignoring part of technology history, where everyone was trying to play their movies and TV shows on the go. So this is why I'm starting my first archival project called...
This project will hold all information about the UMD dump. Those being the following:
Below are updates to the project, where I'll mention about new dumps I have uploaded and more.
I finally got all of the new movies that arrived two days ago! You can check them all out at the dumpinfo page! I'll be uploading the to IA while I go to sleep now lol
I've recieved yet another package for a UMD movie, this is just one and that being Office Space. I added it to the database and will upload it to the archive tomorrow along with the 15 other movies as I'm still adding them to the database
I have gotten my order of a lot of 18 UMDs, 15 of which are movies! I'll be adding them to the dumpinfo page later today or tomorrow, depending on how long it'll take :)
I have two movies dumped so far, those being Jackass Volume Two and Jackass Volume Three. I have ordered about 16 more movies from a lot on ebay for about $2/each! So the archival project is going to increase by so much more :)
